Terms of Service

Last updated: September 10, 2026

These terms govern your use of PlexBeam's website (plexbeam.pages.dev) and remote GPU transcoding service. By using the website or service, you agree to these terms.

The Service

PlexBeam provides remote GPU transcoding for Plex Media Server and Jellyfin. You install a cartridge on your media server that routes transcode requests to a GPU worker over HTTP. The worker processes the transcode and returns the stream.

Pre-Beta Waitlist

PlexBeam is currently in pre-beta. Joining the waitlist reserves your early-adopter pricing (50% off, locked for life) but does not guarantee a specific launch date or feature set. We will email you once when your access is ready.

Pricing

Early-adopter pricing is locked to your email at the time of waitlist sign-up. Prices for new customers may change after general availability.

Your Media

PlexBeam processes transcode jobs — it does not store, cache, index, or inspect the content of your media files. Your media library stays on your server at all times. You are solely responsible for the legality of the content on your server.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Availability

We aim for high uptime but do not guarantee 100% availability. PlexBeam includes automatic fallback — if the worker is unreachable, your media server transcodes locally. We are not liable for playback interruptions caused by worker downtime.

Cancellation

You may cancel your managed worker subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of your billing period. No refunds for partial months. Waitlist removal is free at any time — just email us.

Limitation of Liability

Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid in the preceding 3 months. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages including media loss, playback interruptions, or server downtime.

Intellectual Property

"Plex" is a trademark of Plex, Inc. "Jellyfin" is a trademark of the Jellyfin Contributors. PlexBeam is an independent project and is not affiliated with, authorized by, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with Plex, Inc. or the Jellyfin project.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Marion County, Ohio.

Changes

We may update these terms, especially as the service moves from pre-beta to general availability. The current version is always available at this URL.
